I’ve been a music junkie since about the age of 7, which at my time of writing, was almost 45 years ago.
My involvement in the music scene began in the mid-90s and I’ve been involved in many sides of the industry, from a tape distro, small labels, a hugely successful Metal website in the early 2000s, which ran for almost 10 years to writing for various sites and my foray into broadcasting. First via Metal radio shows and more recently, EBM, Industrial and Punk via Ghost Wave Radio.
I’ve done some promotional work over the years, mainly for Metal stalwarts, The Meads of Asphodel. I’ve had a hand in some of their album artwork as well, but the idea for Headshot Music came from my frustration in finding music for a new radio station, I hope to launch in 2019.
Genres such as Pop and Hip Hop are well catered for, with various sites charging a monthly fee for access to new music. When it comes to anything remotely alternative, there’s not a lot out there, bar traditional PR firms and searching Bandcamp for free releases.
I’m flipping the idea of supplying music to DJs on its head. Whereas the more commercial markets charge DJs up to $30 a month for access to the music, I’m not charging the DJs at all. Quite simply, I want to get the bands as much airplay and reviews/interviews as possible.
So to begin with, prices are extremely low (for bands and labels)
For example, if you just want me to send your music out to gain airplay. It’s just £5.
This is based on you providing a promo pack that’s ready to go: 320kbps MP3s, biog and re-sized photos. And this is the basic package. I submit your music and there’s no follow up playlists, emails etc… a lot of stations tag bands now via Facebook, so that’s where you’ll get most of your follow-up information.
If you want the same as above, but with weekly reports (for 3 months), it’s £20 and we also send your music to webzines, blogs and magazines for possible review
The prices will be kept low until April 2019
I have to pay for a website, a professional means of transferring the music (the paid version of Drop Box or We Transfer, as examples, cloud storage and advertising. So considering my initial outlay, the prices offered are extremely competitive.
Genre wise: Metal, Punk, Post-Punk, Gothic, EBM, Industrial, Grind etc…
The main focus of Headshot Music is based around getting airplay, You Tube plays etc… but we also send promos to the written world. I’ve been a music writer for almost 20 years and still love the format and I’m in the process of launching my own blog, once again.
As with every music venture, there’s no guarantee of success. But there is a guarantee that we’ll work hard at promoting your music. Most of the time, it’ll just be one person, me, but I will seek outside help every now and then.

I also have radio shows on Sine FM, CIA Radio and New Alternative Radio
